Councilorship Aspirant Rehabilitates Community Road In Ogun

ABEOKUTA – After a long time of deplorable condition, the Ile-Ise-Awo Community road is finally being rehabilitated by a Councillorship aspirant of Ward 16 in Abeokuta North Local Government of Ogun State.

The aspirant, Engr. Shokunle Afeez Owolabi, popularly known as NIYAS has commenced rehabilitation of the long stretch of road in the community as parts of his support for the state government.

During a tour of the road by Journalists on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, Owolabi said the gesture was to ease the pains residents go through while plying the road on daily basis.

The Counselorship aspirant explained that the road which links many communities was almost impassable for commuters, hence, they prefer to use alternative roads that is faster.

He appreciated the state government under the leadership of Prince Dapo Abiodun for his great achievement on the development of the state.

In their separate remarks, the Baale of Surulere Ileise-Awo, Alhaji Khalid Surakatu appreciated Owolabi, saying that the road would help the community a lot in the transportation of goods and people.

One of the residents Onabanjo Sikiru commended the aspirant for the gesture, saying that residents who are coming from the farm, instead of going from Ibara through Ita-Oshin down to the community, will be stress-free because it’s a short cut to ease the stress people go through.
