LAGOS, NIGERIA – Senator (Dr.) Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, fondly known as Yayi and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, has called on Christians and Nigerians at large to use this year’s Christmas celebration as a moment to reaffirm their faith in Jesus Christ and pray for a better, stronger Nigeria.
In his Christmas message to constituents in Ogun West and Nigerians nationwide, the senator stated that the transformational gains of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda are beginning to manifest, especially in areas of economic recovery and national stability.
According to him, Christmas signified the birth of a new dawn in humanity’s journey to salvation – a reminder that through Jesus Christ, mankind has hope for a brighter future and eternal redemption.
He urged Christians not to reduce the celebration to merriment alone, but to embrace a spirit of sober reflection, intercession, and thanksgiving.
Senator Adeola Yayi highlighted visible improvements in the economy, noting that key reforms have strengthened the Naira and contributed to reductions in petrol prices and basic food costs.
He further pointed out that inflation – which once peaked at about 38% earlier in the year – has dropped to 14.45%, with food inflation declining to 11.08%.
Senator Adeola urged citizens to view this season as an opportunity to pray for a new beginning for the nation.
While acknowledging the current socio-economic hardships caused by both local and global factors, Yayi expressed optimism that Nigeria is on the path to recovery and progress.
Senator Adeola Yayi urged Nigerians to maintain unwavering faith, assuring that with collective resilience and divine guidance, the nation will overcome its challenges and witness restored economic growth, security, peace, and poverty reduction.
