CHRISTIANS SHOULD RENEW THEIR LIFESTYLES TO BUILD NATIONAL ETHOS – BARR. OTEGBEYE

ILARO-YEWA – Barrister Olubiyi Otegbeye, founder of a non-governmental organization called Building Opportunities For Tomorrow (BOT), has charged the Christian brethren to renew their lifestyles and advance national ethos.

BOT as fondly called gave this advice in his Christmas message e-signed and made available to StarTrend Int’l & online – www.startrendinternational.com by BOT Media Office, saying, the birth of Jesus Christ represents a new beginning.

“God has been faithful. We remain grateful to Him for His abundance grace which enables us to be part of this year’s Christmas cnelebration”, Otegbeye posited.

He highlighted the values that symbolized the life of Jesus Christ, amongst which include love, peace, humility, patience and charity, adding that the Christian faithful should emulate these good values in their relationships with one another, and their dealings with the believers of other faiths.

“There’s no other way to show that Christians accept the teachings of Jesus Christ than being a doer of his teachings; showering love on people, liberating the oppressed, uplifting the broken-hearted and giving to the poor”, Otegbeye stated.

BOT enjoined Christians to celebrate the yuletide with caution in view of the second wave of coronavirus, asking them to observe the guidelines put in place by government and health agencies.

Upholding the biblical injunction to pray for those in positions of authority, Otegbeye urged leaders in the three tiers of government to rule with wisdom and the fear of God, adding that they should stride to fulfill their promises made to the people.

Barr. Otegbeye however prayed that God make this year’s festivities hitch free and safe, and that He should create happiness in the heart of the people.
