Chief Imam Tajudeen Mustapha-Adewunmi of Ilaro Central Mosque has delivered a compelling message to the Muslim community, urging them not to revert to negative behaviours abandoned during Ramadan.
The Islamic scholar who stated this during his Friday sermon at the Central Mosque, Ilaro-Yewa, Ogun State on April 5, 2024, highlighted the significance of maintaining virtuous conduct.
He emphasized that Muslims seeking answered prayers should refrain from returning to their previous bad habits.
Imam Adewunmi particularly addressed issues such as holding grudges against family members and neighbours, emphasizing that such behaviour contradicts the teachings of the Holy Quran and Prophet Muhammad.
Expressing concern over the breakdown of family bonds, Imam Adewunmi denounced those who engage in animosity within their family circles, cautioning that their prayers may go unanswered by God.
Imam Adewunmi further encouraged Muslims to honour their deceased during Ramadan by hosting the Iftar gathering, symbolizing the essence of the holy month.
He emphasized the importance of praying for departed loved ones, fostering a connection to the true spirit of Ramadan.
The renowed cleric urged the youth to resist the temptation of pursuing wealth through illicit means, warning of the transient nature of ill-gotten gains and the eventual consequences faced by those who exploit others for personal gain.
Imam Adewunmi commended those who extend assistance to the less fortunate in their communities, encouraging continued acts of charity and compassion.
He expressed gratitude for the blessings bestowed upon individuals who prioritize the well-being of others.
In his prayers, Imam Adewunmi invoked divine protection and guidance for the country, its leaders, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, as well as representatives at both national and state assemblies.
He also extended prayers to the Olu of Ilaro, Oba (Dr) Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, the Ilaro-in-Council, and the entire populace of Ilaro, Yewa, Ogun State, and Nigeria at large.
