Better Days Ahead, Tinubu Assures Nigerian Workers

ABUJA, FCT, NIGERIA – President Tinubu has assured Nigerian workers of brighter days ahead.

Speaking at the 2024 May Day celebration in Eagle Square, Abuja, Tinubu, represented by Vice-President Kashim Shettima, expressed gratitude to trade unions for their patience and support during the implementation of government policies aimed at national transformation.

Acknowledging the pivotal role of workers in the nation’s progress, Tinubu emphasized the need for unity and cooperation to achieve greatness.

He urged workers to embrace government initiatives wholeheartedly, emphasizing their allegiance and patriotism as essential for national development.

Highlighting the theme “People First” for this year’s May Day celebration, Tinubu affirmed its alignment with the government’s agenda and the central position of the working class in national affairs.

He commended Organized Labour’s commitment to collaboration for the benefit of all citizens.

Addressing concerns about the national minimum wage, Tinubu reassured workers that their worries would soon be resolved.

He affirmed the government’s openness to suggestions for not just a minimum wage but a living wage, reflecting its commitment to workers’ welfare.

Tinubu emphasized the importance of industrial harmony and peaceful coexistence for national growth and development. He urged unity among citizens and called for trust in the administration’s initiatives aimed at transforming Nigeria into a prosperous nation.

Tinubu however reiterated the administration’s dedication to creating a society that caters to the needs of every citizen, promising a future filled with hope and prosperity.

He emphasized that every government initiative is geared towards realizing this vision of a better Nigeria.
