ABEOKUTA, OGUN STATE, NIGERIA – The Ogun State Chapter of the Association of Alaga Eto Igbeyawo (APTWECON) is set to inaugurate Chief (Mrs.) Omolara Adenike Akintade (JP), the IYa Eto of Ilaro-Yewa, as its 3rd Governor.
The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at ONTEC Hall, Madojutimi Junction, Abiola Way, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
In a press release shared with StarTrend Int’l Magazine and online platforms, APTWECON emphasized that Chief (Mrs.) Akintade was elected based on her reliability, articulation, responsibility, and active contributions to the association.
Her tenure will begiZn alongside her executive team, following her election through a transparent voting process.
The association has had two previous Governors, they include Chief (Mrs.) S. A. Omisande (Ijebu Zone, 2008–2016) and Chief (Deaconess) Adesola Odusole (Abeokuta Zone, 2016–2024) while Chief (Mrs.) Akintade will represent Yewaland as she begins her tenure, continuing the tradition of zonal representation within APTWECON.
Since its establishment in 2008, APTWECON has enjoyed and appreciate support from the government, philanthropists, and individuals. Notably, traditional rulers across Ogun State have consistently supported the association in their capacities.
The association remains committed to promoting fairness, justice and honesty, ensuring that its leadership reflects zonal balance and professionalism.
APTWECON plays a vital role in upholding Nigeria’s cultural heritage and traditions. The association actively encourages youths and mothers to safeguard the norms and practices of traditional marriage ceremonies, ensuring their continuity for future generations.
