KANO, KANO STATE, NIGERIA – Former Kano State governor and New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) presidential candidate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has issued a stark warning about the state of affairs within Nigeria’s ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), hinting at potential political upheaval ahead.
In a recent interview, Kwankwaso suggested that the APC’s outward show of unity masks deeper, unresolved issues within the party.
“The APC may still be smiling, but what’s brewing behind their doors could change Nigeria”, he declared, alluding to internal conflicts and dissatisfaction among key players that could soon boil over.
Kwankwaso painted a picture of a ruling party grappling with unspoken grievances, unmet expectations, and growing discontent beneath the surface.
He warned Nigerians not to be misled by public displays of camaraderie such as handshakes and smiling photo-ops.
According to him, many within the APC are frustrated with the direction of governance and the failure to fulfill promises made during campaigns. These tensions, he believes, could erupt at any moment – reshaping not only the APC but also the country’s broader political dynamics.
He called for political awareness and maturity as Nigeria moves toward the 2027 general elections, suggesting that real power may shift unexpectedly—and perhaps sooner than many anticipate.
“Let no one be deceived. The signs are there. Power may return to the people quicker than expected”, Kwankwaso stated.
The remarks have sparked renewed interest in the undercurrents shaping Nigeria’s political future, as citizens and observers alike keep a close watch on the internal state of the ruling party.
