ILARO-YEWA, OGUN STATE, NIGERIA – A prominent leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun State, Alhaji (Hon.) Otunba Adetunji Idowu (Akara), has called on all residents of Yewa South and beyond to obtain their Voter’s Cards to enable them participate actively in the democratic process and make their voices count.

Otunba Idowu made this call during the presentation ceremony of sewing machines to members of the Tailoring Association of Nigeria (TAN), Ilaro branch, held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at the prestigious Recreation Club, Ilaro-Yewa, Ogun State.

Addressing the gathering, the APC stalwart emphasized the importance of civic responsibility and voter participation as the nation prepares for the next election cycle.

“I urge all residents of Yewa South and beyond to go to the designated registration centres in their communities and obtain their Voter’s Cards so that we can make our voices count”, he said.

He described voter participation as a crucial tool for ensuring that capable leaders are elected to continue delivering meaningful development to the people.

Otunba Idowu commended the Distinguished Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) for the numerous constituency projects, empowerment programmes, and developmental initiatives currently ongoing across Ogun West Senatorial District and beyond.

He noted that Senator Yayi’s leadership has brought visible transformation to the region, describing him as “a pragmatic, people-oriented, and compassionate leader who never forgets his roots.”

The APC chieftain also rallied support for Senator Yayi’s quest to become the next Governor of Ogun State in 2027, expressing confidence that his experience and achievements at both state and national levels have adequately prepared him for the task.

“We must all stand by our distinguished Senator, Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi, in his mission to become the next Governor of Ogun State come 2027, Insha Allah”, Otunba Idowu declared.

He prayed for divine strength, wisdom, and long life for Senator Yayi to achieve his dream and fulfill the expectations of millions of Ogun State indigenes.

Otunba Idowu also praised Dr. Mukail Akinde, Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, for his selfless commitment to empowering his people through community-based initiatives.

He appreciated Mr. Gbenga Abiodun Eleduma, CEO of Gatplus Dynamics Resources Ltd., Abuja, for extending his philanthropic gesture to Ilaro through Senator Adeola Yayi

“Not many people will remember their community when opportunities like this arise. Dr. Akinde has shown true leadership by facilitating these machines, and Mr. Eleduma has demonstrated love for our people through his partnership with Senator Yayi – a true son of Yewa and the Okanlomo of Yewaland”, he stated.

While congratulating the beneficiaries of the empowerment programme, Otunba Idowu cautioned them against misusing or selling the donated sewing machines.

He urged them to deploy the equipment to improve their trade, enhance productivity, and contribute to local economic growth.

“I want to advise the beneficiaries to use the machines wisely and not for selfish purposes. The best way to appreciate this gesture is to make good use of it and become successful”, he said.
