OWO, ONDO STATE – Most Rev’d (Dr.) Blessing Enyindah, the Dean of the Church of Nigeria and Anglican Communion Anglican Bishop of Ikwerre, has  appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to promptly address the prevailing hardship faced by Nigerians.

Enyindah stated this during his sermon at the funeral service for the late former Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, held at the Saint Andrews Cathedral Church in Imola, Owo, Ondo State on February 23, 2024.

The cleric, who also serves as the Archbishop of Niger Delta Province, implored Tinubu to fulfill his promise of “Renewed Hope” to Nigerians, noting that the time for action is now.

He emphasized the urgency of the situation, reminding Tinubu that the time allotted for governance is limited.

The funeral service, attended by hundreds of sympathizers from various backgrounds, including Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, former deputy and successor to Akeredolu, was marked by the presence of notable figures such as Vice President Kashim Shettima, who represented President Tinubu, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) George Akume, and governors from several states across Nigeria.

Also in attendance were political leaders, ministers, former governors, and other dignitaries, underscoring the significance of the occasion and the widespread respect for the late former governor.

Akeredolu’s passing on December 27, 2023, at the age of 67 in a German hospital, where he was undergoing medical treatment, marked the end of an era, leaving behind a legacy that will be remembered by many.
