The approval was contained in a letter from the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, dated April 15, 2019; in accordance with the Chiefs Law of Ogun State, 2006.
The Iwaye Dodo ruling house has therefore been requested, under section 15 and 16 of the Chiefs Law of Ogun State and the Customary Law of Ipokia as it relates to obaship, to summon a meeting within 14 days for the purpose of selecting a candidate for the vacant stool.
The ruling house has between April 18 and May 1 to complete the selection process.
A public notice titled “FILLING THE VACANT STOOL OF ONIPOKIA OF IPOKIA LAND” and signed by the Secretary to Ipokia Local Government, Hon. Emmanuel Apari, has since been pasted.
The Onipokia stool became vacant in Nov 13, 2016 when Oba Raufu Adeole joined his ancestors.
