ILARO-YEWA, OGUN STATE, NIGERIA – Muslim faithful have been encouraged not to lose hope if their prayers are yet to be answered by God.
This counsel came from Alhaja Adijat Adewunmi, wife of Sheik (Imam) Tajudeen Mustapha-Adewunmi, the Chief Imam of Ilaro Central Mosque, Ilaro-Yewa, Ogun State, during a special Ramadan prayer session organized by the Iberu Oluwa Ladies Circle of Ilaro Central Mosque.
The event which was held at the Ilaro Central Mosque, Ona-Nla, Ilaro-Yewa, and was graciously organized as part of the group’s yearly Ramadan prayer session for Muslim faithful was hosted by Elhadj (Otunba) Abu-Satar Idowu Hamed, the Otun Baaroyin of Ilaro-Yewa..
Addressing the congregation as the leader of the Iberu Oluwa Ladies Circle, Alhaja Adewunmi stressed that unwavering prayer and fasting are powerful remedies for overcoming life’s challenges.
“As Muslims, we should not despair in whatever precarious situation we find ourselves in. Rather, we should engage in marathon prayer coupled with fasting, and God shall grant us our heart desires”, Alhaja Adewunmi declared.
She further reminded the faithful to avoid sins that could prevent their prayers and fasting from producing positive outcomes.
Alhaja Adewunmi expressed profound gratitude on behalf of the group to Elhadj (Otunba) Abu-Satar Hamed for warmly welcoming the annual prayer session and generously providing donations and gifts.
During the session, Alhaja Adewunmi led the group in a marathon prayer, reciting verses from the Holy Quran. She offered prayers for Elhadj (Otunba) Abu-Satar Hamed, his family, relatives, the people of Ilaro, Yewa, Ogun State, and Nigeria as a whole.
The gathering was brought to a graceful close with Islamic praise songs.
Dignitaries present included Alhaji Akanji Adewunmi, head of the Adewunmi family; Chief Mustapha Adetayo, the Baba Adinni of Ilaro Central Mosque; Alhaji Rafiu Ogundipe; and Ms. Mopelola, among others.
The Iberu Oluwa Ladies Circle is an Islamic prayer group made up of both young and elderly women from the Ilaro Central Mosque, known for their unwavering dedication to regular prayer sessions.
