IJEBU-IFE, OGUN STATE, NIGERIA – Ijebu Ife, a town steeped in history and tradition, is set to welcome a host of distinguished personalities as His Royal Highness, Oba Adesesan Afolorunso Oguntayo, FCA, the Ajalorun of Ijebu Ife (Ogbagba Agbaotewole the 42nd), leads a grand reception in honor of one of its most celebrated sons, Rear Admiral Kolawole Olumide Oguntuga.
This prestigious event, organized by the Planning Committee in collaboration with the Erelu Descendants, will take place on Saturday, 22nd February 22, 2025, at the Ajalorun Palace, Ijebu Ife, by 11:00 a.m.
In a statement e-signed and shared with StarTrend Int’l Magazine and its online platform, by Mr. Tayo Mabeweje, General Secretary, Planning Committee, the event is expected to bring together high-ranking government officials, revered traditional rulers, senior military officers and eminent personalities from various sectors to celebrate the remarkable accomplishments of Rear Admiral Oguntuga in the Nigerian Navy.

A distinguished officer with a stellar military career, Rear Admiral Kolawole Olumide Oguntuga is a proud descendant of Erelu and grandson of the Iyalode of Ijebu Ife. His journey to the prestigious rank of Rear Admiral is a testament to his unwavering dedication, professionalism, and exemplary service to the nation. His achievements continue the legacy of his father, Chief Duro Fatai Oguntuga, the immediate past Balogun (Warlord) of Ijebu Ife, reflecting a heritage of leadership and valor.
