LAGOS – The Assistant Inspector General of Police, in-charge of Zone 2 Command, Onikan, Lagos, AIG Ahmed Iliyasu (psc+), has been described as a “distinguished leader, dogged administrator, bastion of hope and a statesman per excellence”.
This statement was made on Friday September, 25, 2020, by Trans-African Youth Initiative (TAYI) delegates led by Ambassador Bakare Luqman, CFO, CNO, CCSCRN, GCYPC, (Country Representative), at the presentation of an award of “African Patriotic Leader” to AIG Ahmed Iliyasu in his Lagos office.
Amb. Lukman who was in company of some of his team, which included Hon. Helen Avidime (Accra), Ambassador Victor Collins (Kumasi) and Ambassador Alaya Abdulrahman (Kwara) were ushered into the office of the AIG Iliyasu where introduction of the Zonal management team and presentation of the award took place.
Earlier in his speech, Amb. Lukman said: “the award recipient (AIG Ahmed Iliyasu) has earned himself this most revered award – “African Patriotic Leader” which was unanimously agreed at the recent National meeting of the group, held at the University of Ghana, Legon, Ghana.
”Indeed, the recipient has won the heart of Nigerian youths by his conduct and credentials as a distinguished leader, dogged administrator, bastion of hope and a statesman per excellence”
In his response, AIG Iliyasu said: “the almighty formula in solving all security challenges in Nigeria is national community policing strategy of the Federal government, being pursued by the Inspector General Of Police, IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu NPM, MNI by building community cooperation and improving public affection and perception of the police in Nigeria.
“Against this backdrop, all stakeholders would be involved in implementing community policing in Nigeria.”
