ABEOKUTA: The Ogun State Service Commanders, in continuation of their tour on Tuesday, April 14, 2020 across the State, also went for a metropolitan surveillance in the Abeokuta City to oversee the state of compliance of the lockdown order.
According to a press release e-signed and made available to StarTrend Int’l magazine & www.startrendinternational.com by Dyke Ogbonnaya, State Public Relations Executive, speaking with the Ogun State Television station, the duo of the State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ogun State Command Headquarters, Abeokuta, Alhaji Hameed Abodunrin and the Commissioner of Police, Nigeria Police, Ogun
State Command, Eleweran, jointly appreciated the cooperation of the Ogun people and also advise them to stay at home and stay safe as the virus is no respecter of persons.
The convoy which set out as early as 10.00 a.m moved around the Abeokuta metropolis comprising all services: the Police, the Army, the Civil Defence, Immigration, Correctional Service, DSS, TRACE, SO-SAFE Corps, NDLEA, FRSC among others.
The surveillance was to sensitise, educate, appeal, warn, advise and enjoin the Ogun people to be law abiding and respectful to the laws and order of the Federal and State governments for the benefit of their entire family and Nigeria in general.
As the lockdown becomes more intense in the coming week, the Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Abodunrin appeals to the people not to panic, “but be more proactive, reveal information and pray for the end of the pandemic”.
