ABEOKUTA: Ahead of the Easter celebration, the Ogun state Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has approved additional 750 personnel to join the already deployed officers across all formations of the Corps in the State for the compliance order of the lockdown in the state over the COVID-19 pandemic.
A release by the Command’s Spokesperson, Dyke Ogbonnaya indicated that the Corps had intensified efforts aimed at improving security during this Easter celebration which starts on Friday, April 10 through Monday, April 13, 2020.
The statement reads “The Commandant wishes to felicitate with all Christian faithful in Ogun State and across the world while also urging us to use this holy period to pray as a nation for the total eradication of the pandemic desease ravaging the world.
“This period, according to the corps Commandant, Alhaji Abodunrin, should be seen as a time for sober reflections as a people and also as a time for conflicting issues which in the long run brings peace amidst rival parties”, the statement added.
He stated further that “To this end, the command assures all residents of adequate security before, during and after the Easter celebration while also reminding us to take cognisance of all safety precautions such as: regular hand washing, regular use of hand sanitisers, use of nose masks and observing the approved social distancing rule among others.”
