ILARO-YEWA: The Ogun State Commissioner For Budget and Planning, Hon. Olaolu Olabimtan has distributed over one thousand sanitizers and food items to citizens of Yewa South Local Government of the State.
The Commissioner for Budget and Planning who disclosed that the distribution of the items was part of his contributions to assist people of the council area, especially the vulnerable at this period of COVID-19 pandemic, and as a way of supporting the state government, lauded Governor Dapo Abiodun for distributing foods and other palliative items across the state to ameliorate the sufferings of the people during the two weeks stay at home ordered by the Federal Government to curb the spread of coronavirus.
Olabimtan advised citizens of the Local Government to adhere strictly to the government’s advice of regular hand watching, maintenance of social distance and hygienic environment, while urging them to abide with the stay at home order.
Appreciating the kind gesture of the Commissioner, the Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Yewa South Local Government, Otunba Tunji Idowu Onigbami, thanked Hon. Olabimtan for deeming it fit to support the people of the council area at this period, adding that the Commissioner is well known for such act of kindness even when there was no emergency.
The APC Chairman who said that, the distribution of the items cut across the nooks and crannies of the council area regardless of parties or religious affiliation and tribes, called on other well meaning individuals in the area to emulate the good gesture of the Commissioner and assist people around them, most especially the vulnerable.
Just like the Commissioner, Otunba Onigbami implored citizens of the council area and its environs to keep to the government’s advice and obey the stay at home order to stop the spread of coronavirus.
On her own, the Iyaloja of Ilaro, Alhaja Risikat Bola Idowu thanked Hon. Olabimtan for remembering the people of the council area, most especially at this period, stating that most members of her community, market men and women benefited from the good gesture of the Commissioner.
