ABEOKUTA: The Caretaker Chairman of the Ogun State chapter of Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ), Comrade (Mrs.) Omolola Adeyinka has urged members of the Union to take note of all precautionary measures advised by medical practitioners and authority of the country during their daily reportage activities.
The NUJ Caretaker Chairman who gave the advice in a circular forwarded to members in the state, and made available to StarTrend Int’l magazine & www.startrendinternational.com, salute their courage for effective and daily report of events across the state and beyond despite the coronavirus pandemic ravaging the country and beyond.
Her words, “I salute your courage. Dear Comrades, I just wish to check on you all. Dear colleagues, please stay safe during your coverage and other assignments at this critical period.
“Kindly take note of all precautionary measures advice by the health authorities in office and at home.
“Once again, I salute your courage and high sense of patriotism. Surely you all have remained a source of inspiration to Nigerians and Ogun State in particular”.
Comrade Adeyinka pointed out that the popular Iwe Iroyin Press Centre, Abeokuta which has earlier been closed some days ago remained closed, except for urgent matters which according to her was in conformity with the directives from National office and the State Government.
“Iwe Iroyin Press Centre remained closed for now, except for urgent matters, in conformity with the directives from the National office and the State Government.
“The State Council is at your service online. Please report your observations and suggestions to the Caretaker Chairman and Secretary WhatsApp number” Adeyinka posited.
She however called on media practitioners across the State to always remember those that are already affected in their prayers for quick recovery from the dreaded virus.
