LAGOS, NIGERIA – Alhaji (Otunba) Abiola Kumoye, Chairman of the Nigerian Community Greater Manchester, United Kingdom, has been officially installed as the Otunba Akinrogun of Oro Kingdom, Kwara State.

The installation ceremony was held on Wednesday, December 24, 2025 in Oro town, Kwara State.

While addressing the gathering, His Royal Majesty, Oba Joel Olaniyi Oyatoye Titiloye, the Oloro of Oro Kingdom, said that Chief Kumoye was chosen for the prestigious title in recognition of his unwavering contributions to the growth and development of the Oro Kingdom.

Alhaji (Otunba) Abiola Kumoye is being formally adorned with the cap of his office during the occasion.

The monarch praised the new title holder as a pride of Nigeria, acknowledging his exceptional leadership in managing the Nigerian community in Greater Manchester for over a decade without blemish.

Oba Oyatoye Titiloye urged Nigerians in the diaspora to emulate Otunba Kumoye’s commitment to promoting Nigerian culture and preserving Yoruba heritage in the United Kingdom.

He urged the new Otunba Akinrogun to continue representing Nigeria and Yorubaland as a worthy ambassador abroad.

Alhaji (Otunba) Abiola Kumoye is being formally adorned with another insignia of his office during the occasion.

In his response, Otunba Abiola Kumoye expressed profound gratitude to Oba Oyatoye Titiloye and the entire Oro Kingdom for the honour bestowed upon him.

He assured the monarch of his continued support for the development of the community and appealed to the people of Oro to stand firmly behind Kabiyesi as efforts continue to move the kingdom to greater heights.

The ceremony drew dignitaries and distinguished guests from Nigeria, the United Kingdom, the United States, and other parts of the world, marking a memorable day in the history of Oro Kingdom.

Alhaji (Otunba) Abiola Kumoye is a highly respected community leader, real estate professional, and housing specialist who currently served as the Chairman of the Nigerian Community in Greater Manchester, United Kingdom – a community with a population of over two hundred thousand Nigerians.

He holds two Master’s degrees, one in Housing Practice and the other in Project Management, qualifications that equip him with solid expertise in housing systems, community development, and strategic project execution.

In his professional capacity, Alhaji (Otunba) Kumoye plays an active role in the real estate sector, with specialization in property acquisition and sales within the United Kingdom and internationally.
