LAGOS, NIGERIA – The Chairman of United Bank for Africa (UBA) and Heirs Holdings, Mr. Tony Elumelu, has promised to support a young man in his music career after being moved by his exceptional performance at the Heirs Insurance Travel Festival.

The budding artiste, Tobi Godsent, captivated the audience with his talent and later shared his emotional life story after emerging winner of the festival’s talent show.

Tobi revealed that he hails from Delta State and comes from a very poor family of four children, where he is the only male child.

Despite his passion for music, he said his family often dismissed him as a “gold digger” for pursuing his dream.

Tobi further narrated how betrayal by a close friend left him homeless and struggling for survival, forcing him to sleep on the streets.

He attended the event in a faded polo shirt, shorts, and sandals – simply hoping to get something to eat.

However, when given the opportunity to perform, Tobi’s raw talent and unique stage presence deeply impressed Tony Elumelu, who immediately rewarded him with N1 million and pledged to support his musical journey.

Another dignitary at the event also gifted him N1 million and promised to feature him in a concert this December.

The crowd at the Victoria Island, Lagos venue gave Tobi a resounding standing ovation, marking what could be the beginning of a life-changing journey for the young artiste.
