Seunàrà Foundation: A Decade of Love, Hope, and Service To Children With Special Needs
Because of his deep passion for the less-privileged – especially children living with disabilities – Mr. Seun Ara (Oluwaseunàrà) Amusan Mayokun, alongside a team of like-minded individuals, founded the Seunàrà Foundation/Special Children Ambassador Group.
The organisation was established to keep hope alive for children with special needs and ensure they receive care, attention, and dignity.
In this no-holds-barred interview with Abu-Satar Hamed of StarTrend Int’l Magazine and Online Platform, Seun Ara, as he is fondly called, shared the journey, sacrifices, inspiration, and achievements behind his decade-long mission to support children with disabilities. Enjoy!
What is the name of your organisation?
The organisation is called _Seunàrà Foundation/Special Children Ambassador Group_ .
What does your organisation stand for, and what is its core mission?
Our mission is simple, but profound: caring for the less privileged, especially children with disabilities – our Special Children.
What inspired your focus on supporting children with disabilities?
Because they are special. I have never regretted dedicating myself to them.
It’s been 10 years since you began this initiative. How has the journey been, and what feedback have you received from the beneficiaries?
The journey has been filled with love. The children are incredibly affectionate.
Whenever they see you, they recognise you instantly and express genuine warmth.
My greatest gain is the love I receive from these children. I have no regrets – no losses, only blessings.
How do you fund or secure sponsorships for this annual programme?
We have a group of like-minded individuals known as the Special Children Ambassador Group. They come together every year to support the needs of the children.
Do you believe more support is needed from government or corporate bodies?
Absolutely. More support is urgently needed. These children require help in many areas.
I want to use this medium to appeal to all individuals and organisations with compassion to partner with us in making life better and more comfortable for children with special needs.
Do you work with a team, or is this a personal initiative?
We have an executive team at the Special Children Ambassador Group. They have been wonderful and supportive.
Our executives include Mr. Seunàrà Amusan – President; Mr. Bakare – Secretary and Mrs. Ogunjimi Victoria – Treasurer
Have you received any personal, material, or spiritual rewards from this mission?
God has continually rewarded everyone who donated and supported this course. We believe strongly in our motto: “Living is Giving.”
We are committed to sharing and caring because these children are special to us all.
What words of encouragement do you have for children living with disabilities?
I always tell them: “There is ability in your disability.”
They should never give up.
There is light at the end of the tunnel.
Stay focused on your studies and believe in God Almighty.
What message do you have for your sponsors and supporters?
I deeply appreciate everyone who has stood by us for the past 10 years. I could never have done this alone without their encouragement and donations.
For accountability purposes, these are the items donated yearly to the children and the school since inception:
Our year-by-year achievements are
2016: Breakfast for all children of Special Children School, Ilaro-Yewa
2017: School bags

As always, donations are welcome, and suggestions on how to serve the children better are appreciated.
I believe in God – and in you our esteemed donors and those yet to contribute to our initiatives. Nothing is impossible.
Thank you, and may God bless us all.
Let’s be reminded that giving is living. So, let’s share and let’s care. God is the rewarder.
