FCA Ibadan Explores Partnership With Kainiu Investment Nigeria Limited On Locally Developed Agricultural Tricycle Innovation (+photos)

IBADAN, OYO STATE, NIGERIA – Tuesday, November 4, 2025: The Federal College of Agriculture, Moor Plantation, Ibadan (FCAIB), on Tuesday, held a strategic meeting with Kainiu Investment Nigeria Limited to explore a possible collaboration on the maintenance, marketing, and product enhancement of the Kainiu Tricycle Devicea locally engineered innovation designed for low fuel consumption, easy maintenance, and durable performance.

According to a statement e-signed and made available to StarTrend Int’l Magazine and Online Platform by Wilson Oyekemi, Head, Public Relations Unit of the College, during the meeting, the Provost of FCAIB, Prof. Jonathan J. Atungwu, warmly welcomed Mr. Olumuyiwa Adeyemo, Director of Kainiu Investment Nigeria Limited, commending his company’s interest in working with the institution. He also praised Mr. Eyitayo Atilade Oluade, Dean of the School of Agricultural Management and Vocational Studies, for facilitating the proposal.

Prof. Atungwu described the Kainiu Tricycle innovation as a significant technological advancement that aligns with the College’s vision of promoting green, sustainable, and efficient agricultural practices.

“This initiative reflects our commitment to innovations that enhance agricultural productivity, reduce operational costs, and strengthen the agricultural value chain — particularly in the efficient movement of inputs and outputs between farms and markets,” he said.

The Provost emphasized that such partnerships foster applied research, student training, and technology transfer, which are vital components of modern agricultural development.

In his remarks, Mr. Adeyemo, an indigene of the local community, expressed his passion for contributing to grassroots development and agricultural advancement.

He reaffirmed his commitment to working with FCAIB to promote locally made innovations that serve both farmers and rural enterprises.

The Kainiu Tricycle Device, with a 3-ton capacity and an 18-litre fuel tank, is designed to enhance agricultural logistics by providing farmers with an affordable and efficient means of transporting farm inputs and produce.

Prof. Atungwu however assured that the College Management would carefully review the proposal to identify viable areas of collaboration that would further strengthen FCAIB’s core mandate in agricultural training, research, and extension services.
