FCT, ABUJA, NIGERIA – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Oba (Dr.) Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, of his administration’s commitment to completing ongoing projects and executing new ones in Ogun West, Ogun State, and across Nigeria.
This assurance was given on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, when Oba Olugbenle paid a private visit to the President at his Aso Rock Villa residence in Abuja.
According to a release signed by Mr. ’Deola Adeyemi, Special Assistant on Media and Strategic Communications to the Paramount Ruler and made available to StarTrend Int’l magazine and online platform, President Tinubu also appealed for continued prayers and support from traditional rulers to enable his government to deliver more impactful projects nationwide.
The President expressed his appreciation for the steadfast support of traditional rulers across the country and pledged to sustain a cordial relationship with them.
In his remarks, Oba Olugbenle commended President Tinubu for the visible and people-oriented projects executed across Ogun West, Ogun State, and Nigeria as a whole.
As Chairman of the Ogun State Council of Obas, Oba Olugbenle conveyed the gratitude of the people of Ogun West and the state at large for both the infrastructural projects and strategic appointments facilitated by the Tinubu administration.
The monarch specifically thanked the President for signing into law the bill upgrading the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, into the Federal University of Technology, Ilaro, a development he described as a major boost to educational opportunities for youths in Ogun State and beyond.
He also expressed appreciation for the appointment of Ogun State indigenes, particularly sons and daughters of Yewaland, into key positions within the federal administration.
Oba Olugbenle further acknowledged the President’s support for Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, in attracting federal backing for critical projects.
These include the ongoing rehabilitation of the Ota-Abeokuta Express Road, Ota-Idiroko Road, and the Sagamu Interchange-Papalanto-Ilaro-Obelle Border Road being undertaken by the Dangote Group under the Federal Government’s Tax Concession Scheme, along with several other federal interventions across the state.
The visit, being described by the observers of the scene, as engaging and fruitful, provided both leaders the opportunity to discuss the progress and development of Ogun State and Nigeria in general.
Oba Olugbenle also used the occasion to reaffirm the unwavering support of the Royal Fathers, the people of Yewaland, Ogun West, and indeed Ogun State, for President Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, while extending that support to all candidates of his political party.
