OTA, ADO-ODO/OTA LG, OGUN STATE, NIGERIA – The qualifying draw for the 2025 edition of the annual 9ja Cafe Rhum/Late Pa Ayo Rosiji Football Tournament was conducted on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at the Conference Hall of the sponsors, Nigeria Distilleries Limited (NDL), Sango-Ota, Ogun State.
According to the President of AYSON Promotions, organisers of the championship, High Chief Mufutau Abolade, the tournament’s kick-off and opening ceremony will hold on October 2, 2025, with a thrilling encounter between NDL FC and Hayfash FC.
Abolade further disclosed that the 16 participating teams have been drawn into four groups. From each group, the top two teams will advance to the quarterfinal stage of the competition.
While the NDL FC, Hayfash FC, Acme Dynamites and Hope FC were drawn in Group A, Hephzibar FC, Panthers FC, Capstone FC and Glamour FC were drawn in Group B on the road to the quarter final stage.
Agada FC were drawn in Group C to tackle Great Vision FC, Community FC and Ona-Ara FC, while Excel FC, Daylight FC, Da Faria FC and Gunners FC were drawn in Group D
High Chief Abolade, who noted that the 9ja Cafe Rhum/Pa Ayo Rosiji Football Tournament is a grassroot competition for teams from every part of Ogun and Lagos States, however, appealed to the participating teams to imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship and friendliness throughout the event.
He thanked the Nigeria Distilleries Limited (NDL) for offering to sponsor this year’s edition, promising that the competition will leave to its expectations as more talents will be discovered during the games.
The representative of the NDL at the draw, the Human Resources Manager, who was represented by Mr. Tayo Rabiu, expressed the company’s delight in the competition and assured that adequate security had been put in place at the NDL sports ground, venue of the tournament for both the participating teams, the organisers and the invited guests.
