ILARO-YEWA, OGUN STATE, NIGERIA – The Olu of Ilaro, Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, and Chairman of the Ogun State Council of ObasOba (Dr.) Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, FNIVS, FNIM, RSV, DSc, DLitt, FFPI (Asade Agunloye IV), has expressed profound joy and gratitude over the official gazette of the Bill establishing the Federal University of Technology, Ilaro (FUTI).

Describing the development as a “historic milestone,” the monarch said it signifies a new dawn for the educational and socio-economic advancement of Yewaland, Ogun West, and Ogun State at large.

In a statement e-signed and released by his media team to StarTrend Int’l magazine and online platform, Oba Olugbenle extended sincere appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his nationalistic leadership in assenting to the Bill and ensuring its publication in the official gazette.

“On behalf of the good people of Yewaland, I express our profound appreciation to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his responsive leadership and nationalistic disposition,” the statement read.

The monarch also heaped praises on Distinguished Senator (Aremo) Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) for his tireless efforts and strategic advocacy in championing the realisation of this long-standing dream for the region.

“We equally extend heartfelt appreciation to Distinguished Senator (Aremo) Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) for his unrelenting effort and strategic advocacy towards the actualisation of this long-desired vision,” he stated.

Oba Olugbenle noted the symbolic timing of the gazette’s release, coinciding with Senator Adeola’s birthday, calling it the “best birthday gift” for present and future generations of Ogun West indigenes.

“That the gazette comes in the month of Senator Adeola’s birthday makes it even more symbolic. FUTI’s gazette is the best birthday gift to generations of Ogun West sons and daughters who now have a Federal University to call their own”, Kabiyesi said.

The monarch emphasized that the gazette represents what is possible when dedicated leadership, royal institutions, and united communities work together with purpose.

“This milestone reflects what is possible when a dedicated leader takes action, our royal institutions lend their voice, and the people stand together with hope and determination.”

In conclusion, Oba Olugbenle congratulated the people of Yewaland and Ogun West on the landmark achievement, expressing hope that implementation and academic activities at the university would commence without delay.
