LAGOS, NIGERIA – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared that he is no longer angry with Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The announcement came on Sunday, June 8, 2025, during a meeting with members of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC).
According to reports, GAC visited the president specifically to plead on behalf of Governor Sanwo-Olu, seeking reconciliation and forgiveness over unspecified grievances that had strained the relationship.
During the meeting, members of the Governor’s Advisory Council also appealed to President Tinubu to forgive other individuals from the state who may have offended him.
Chairman of the GAC, Alhaji Tajudeen Olusi, acknowledged that President Tinubu had been displeased with certain individuals in Lagos, particularly Governor Sanwo-Olu. Olusi then took a personal step to appeal to the president for mercy.
In response to the plea, Tinubu reassured the group that all grievances had been set aside. “It’s all over now. All is forgiven,” the president said, indicating that he no longer held any resentment toward anyone in the room, including Sanwo-Olu.
