ILARO-YEWA, OGUN STATE, NIGERIA – The Bobagunwa of Ilaro-Yewa, Alhaji (Chief) Waidi Haruna, popularly known as Wadoye, has extended a heartfelt congratulatory message to His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle MFR, the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, as well as to the entire people of Ilaro and Ogun West.
The message was in celebration of the official upgrade of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro (FPI) to a Federal University of Technology, Ilaro (FUTI).
Alhaji Haruna, who is also the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Wadoye Express Ltd., an international logistics and supply chain company with over 20 years of experience – expressed profound gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR for the monumental decision.
He acknowledged the President’s role in facilitating the upgrade, which he believes will usher in a new era of development, not only to Yewaland, but Ogun State and Nigeria as whole.
In an online chat with AbuSatar Hamed, the StarTrend Int’l magazine and platform bosss, the UK-based business mogul praised Aremo (Senator) Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) for his unwavering commitment and vital contribution to the legislative process that culminated in the institution’s upgrade.
He is not forgetting and also acknowledged other members of the National Assembly for their collective efforts. According to Wadoye, the persistent advocacy and dedication of the lawmakers laid the groundwork for President Tinubu’s approval of the bill.
The Bobagunwa of Ilaro-Yewa described the legislation as transformative, stressing that it would have lasting impacts on education and youth development.
Wadoye lauded President Tinubu’s decision as a courageous move aimed at enhancing technological education and empowering the nation’s youth.
He emphasized that this elevation from a polytechnic to a university represents a significant advancement in both academic potential and regional growth.
The logistics and supply chain expert highlighted that the transition from Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro to Federal University of Technology, Ilaro goes far beyond a mere name change. According to him, it symbolized the opening of new doors for young Nigerians and communities in Yewaland.
Wadoye commended the President’s visionary leadership and foresight, asserting that the development would drive innovation, youth empowerment, and socio-economic development nationwide.
The Bobagunwa of Ilaro-Yewa further expressed appreciation to members of the National Assembly for their unanimous support in the legislative process. He praised their commitment to advancing education and regional progress, which he believes was instrumental in realizing the long-standing dream of establishing a university.
Wadoye also extended his congratulations to the Rector, Dr. Mukail Akinde, the management and staff of the institution, students, and the people of Ilaro and Yewaland – both at home and in the diaspora. He referred to the development as a dream come true.
