Alausa Branch NSITF Marks Safety Week With Road Walk

ALAUSA, IKEJA, LAGOS, NIGERIA – The Alausa branch of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) in the Lagos Mainland region   recently embarked on a road walk on Billings way through Oregun road to draw attention to the importance of workplace safety and health

According to the Manager, NSITF, Alausa branch, Mr. Omotayo Oloyebua, the activity was part of the programmes put in place by the organisation to celebrate the 2025 edition of the annual World Day for Safety and Health at Work.

He noted that the theme of this year edition, ‘ Revolutionizing Health and Safety: The Role of AI and Digitalization at Work’, was befitting, more so that it highlighted the impact of of artificial Intelligence and digital technologies on occupational safety and health.

Oloyebua noted that the theme captured the main role of his agency in the society such as ensuring the promotion of the enforcement of occupational safety and health standard in the work force and encouraging stakeholders to invest in creating safe and healthy work environments.

The branch manager further emphasised that his agency attached great importance to ensuring the rehabilitation of employees who suffer work – related injuries, occupational diseases or disabilities, as well as the provision of a fair guaranteed and adequate compensation for  all insured employees.

He, however, explained that the branch decided to embark on a road walk to celebrate the 2025 edition of the event with the understanding that it would not only create awareness on how to reduce work – related accidents and diseases, but also promote safe and healthy working conditions and raising awareness about occupational safety and health (OSH) issues.

Oloyebua further stressed that the road walk encouraged team building and camaraderie among the staff, thereby promoting a sense of unity and shared responsibility for workplace safety.

The NSITF branch manager, who described the road walk a timely and relevant event for staff in the branch as it greatly improved their fitness, appreciated the staff for enduring the pains of the walk and ensuring the success of the programme.
