ABEOKUTA, OGUN STATE, NIGERIA – As part of its preparations for the 2025 Hajj exercise, the Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Board has constituted a welfare committee to oversee and coordinate the pilgrimage for intending pilgrims from the state.
According to a statement on Friday, April 18, 2025, Apelogun is the Amirul Hajj, while Shaekh Ishaq Olorungbebe will serve as the Chairman.
Leading the delegation is Alhaji (Prince) Adebayo Apelogun, the Chairman of the Amalgamated Commercial Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN), Ogun State chapter.
He has been officially appointed as the Amirul Hajj for the 2025 pilgrimage, entrusting him with the responsibility of guiding and supervising the affairs of the state’s pilgrims.
Alongside Prince Apelogun, thirteen other individuals have been selected as members of the Welfare Board Ad-hoc Committee.
They are Sheik Lawal Iskeel (Sugar), Sheikh Shile Rufai, Imam Sabeeq Aladi Ibrahim, Sheik Wasiu Raheem Balogun, Imam Abdul-Lateef Ismail Afolabi, TPL. Ogunfowora Kamoru Olayiwola, Alhaji (Imam) Hassan Tijani, Alhaji Hussein Oredipe Mustapha, Alhaji(Imam) Uthman Akewukanwo are members of the committee.
Others are: Alhaja Alarise Korede Fausat, Alhaja Egunjobi Kafilat Aderonke and Alhaja Jinadu Zainab Iyabode.
This committee is tasked with supporting and ensuring the smooth facilitation of the pilgrimage to the Holy Land, covering areas such as welfare, logistics, and coordination for Ogun State pilgrims.
