CALABAR, CROSS RIVER, NIGERIA – As part of proactive efforts to ensure a safe, peaceful, and hitch-free Easter celebration across Cross River State, the Commissioner of Police has ordered the large-scale deployment of police personnel to key public locations.
According to a statement e-signed and made available to StarTrend Int’l magazine and online platform by SP Ugbo Irene, ANIPR, Police Public Relations Officer, the deployment will cover recreational centres, worship venues, highways, and other public spaces.
Commissioner of Police, Cross River State Command, CP Olusegun Eyitayo Omosanyin, PSC(+), fdc, issued the directive, emphasizing that this effort will include visible policing, foot and vehicular patrols, and enhanced surveillance across all local government areas.
In line with the CP’s directive, all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and Tactical Unit Commanders have been instructed to maintain a high level of alertness and ensure public safety before, during, and after the celebration.
The Commissioner warned that unauthorized processions, unapproved gatherings, or banned masquerade displays will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
“The Command remains fully committed to upholding law and order and will not hesitate to take decisive action against any group or individuals found breaching the peace,” CP Omosanyin stated.
Residents are urged to remain law-abiding and security-conscious while celebrating Easter responsibly. The CP also used the opportunity to issue a warning to criminal elements within the state.
The CP declared that Cross River will not serve as a sanctuary for criminal activities and assured that all criminal hideouts will be identified and dismantled.
