Former Lagos Guber Candidate Jandor Dumps PDP

LAGOS, NIGERIA – Dr. Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He made this declaration during a media briefing at his Ikeja office in Lagos on Monday, March 3, 2025.

Jandor, who was the PDP’s governorship candidate in the 2023 Lagos State election, did not disclose his future political plans or the reasons for leaving the party.

However, he assured that he would announce his next political move in the coming months. He also stated that he is leaving the party along with his supporters across the 20 local governments and 37 Local Council Development Areas of the state.

Before joining the PDP in January 2022, Jandor was a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and led the Lagos4Lagos Movement, advocating for internal democracy within the APC.

He defected to the PDP and secured the party’s gubernatorial ticket for the 2023 elections, where he finished third behind the incumbent Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the APC and Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party.

His departure from the PDP adds a new dimension to Lagos State’s political landscape, and his next steps will be closely watched by political observers and stakeholders.
