Birthday Tribute
BY ABU-SATAR HAMED
In the grand tapestry of time, there are individuals whose impact transcends the ordinary, leaving footprints on the sands of history. Alhaji (Chief) Ibrahim Egungbohun Dende, fondly known as IBD, is one such remarkable figure. As he marks his 55th birthday anniversary today, Monday, March 3, 2025, it is only fitting that I join hundreds of thousands of his admirers all over the world to celebrate his incredible journey – one defined by business acumen, humility, and an unwavering commitment to humanity.
Born with a spirit of enterprise and an unyielding drive for success, Alhaji Ibrahim Egungbohun Dende, the Okanlomo of Yewaland has built an empire that stands tall in Nigeria’s economic landscape.
As the Chairman/Chief Executive of IBD IMPEX Group of Companies, the humble and respected legend has demonstrated exceptional leadership, turning his business into a powerhouse of excellence.
His foray into the world of trade and commerce was not without challenges, but his resilience, foresight, and integrity set him apart. Through strategic decision-making and innovation, IBD IMPEX has grown into a conglomerate spanning multiple sectors, including importation, logistics, real estate, and hospitality. His business acumen has not only created jobs but has also contributed significantly to economic growth, particularly in Ogun State and beyond.
While many may know IBD for his business empire, those closest to him understand that his true wealth lies in his generosity. Unlike those who seek the limelight for their charitable deeds, Alhaji Ibrahim Dende is a noiseless philanthropist, giving without expectations, helping without seeking recognition.
From empowering the youth through job creation to supporting widows, orphans, and the underprivileged, his impact is felt far and wide. His philanthropic footprint extends to education, healthcare, community development, and religious causes. It is not uncommon for struggling families to receive life-changing assistance from him without fanfare.
His humility and civility is even more striking – despite his immense success, IBD remains approachable, down-to-earth, and deeply committed to the well-being of his people. His kindness knows no boundaries, and his generosity is a testament to his belief that true wealth is measured by the number of lives one uplifted.
Beyond business and philanthropy, Alhaji Ibrahim Dende is a devout Muslim and respected leader within his community. His wisdom, sense of justice, and commitment to societal growth have earned him the admiration of both young and old. He is a man of honour, dignity, and cultural pride, always seeking the progress of his people and those who cross his path.
Through his influence, he has championed causes that promote unity, progress, and development. Whether through business mentorship, political engagement, or traditional leadership support, he continues to be a pillar of strength and inspiration.
The only thing that comes to us in life without any effort is growing older. As Alhaji (Chief) Ibrahim Egungbohun Dende turns 55 today (Monday, March 3, 2025), I celebrate not just his age but his legacy of excellence, humility, and service. His life serves as an inspiration to aspiring entrepreneurs, young leaders, and philanthropists.
On this special occasion, I wish him good health, long life, and continued success. May his dedication to humanity continue to bring light to many, and may his years ahead be filled with more prosperity, joy, and fulfillment.
Happy 55th Birthday, IBD and Ramadan Mubarak!
May the Almighty Allah continue to bless, guide and protect you and your family. Insha Allah, May the good Lord grant you good health and long life. May you continue to shine as a beacon of hope and greatness.
Congratulations Oyiiiii!
