ILARO-YEWA, OGUN STATE, NIGERIA – Oba (Dr.) Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, the Olu of Ilaro, Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, and Chairman of the Ogun State Council of Obas, hosted members of the All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPPS), Yewa/Awori Axis, on February 25, 2025.
According to a release e-signed and shared with StarTrend Int’l magazine and online platform by ‘Deola Adeyemi, Special Assistant to the Paramount Ruler on Media and Strategic Communications, the delegation was led by Mrs. Jokotola Hammond. They formally extended an invitation to Oba Olugbenle to grace their Biennial State Congress, scheduled for December 2025, to be hosted in Yewaland.
The delegation expressed confidence that his esteemed presence would add prestige and significance to the event.
In response, Oba Olugbenle expressed delight at the visit, noting that this was his first-ever meeting with ANCOPPS since ascending the throne over 12 years ago.
He commended the current executive and members for fostering engagement between the Paramountcy and the secondary education sector in Yewaland, acknowledging their efforts in changing the narrative.
In his continued support for academic excellence, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle earlier today graced the 6th Combined Convocation Ceremony of the Ogun State Institute of Technology (OGITECH), Igbessa, in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government of Ogun State.
The event marked a major milestone in OGITECH’s history, celebrating the successful graduation of 9,320 students.
The convocation ceremony, with Prof. Rahamon Bello as the Guest Lecturer, attracted notable dignitaries, including Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, Deputy Governor of Ogun State; Ogun State First Lady, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun; and Oba (Prof.) Abdulkabir Obalanlege, the Olota of Ota, among other distinguished royal fathers and guests.
Oba Olugbenle commended Dr. Abiodun Oluseye, the Rector of OGITECH, for the institution’s significant progress and its role in advancing technical education in the state.
The monarch also extended his warm congratulations to Ogun State First Lady, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun; Dr. Bosun Tijani and Alhaji Ibrahim Dende Egungbohun for their conferment of the prestigious Fellowship of OGITECH, recognizing their outstanding contributions to education, leadership, and societal development.
Rounding off his engagements, Oba Olugbenle was a distinguished guest at the 20th Coronation Anniversary of the Onidogo of Idogo-Yewa, Oba Saheed Olubiyi.
The grand occasion was graced by dignitaries, including traditional rulers, government officials, community leaders, and distinguished sons and daughters of Yewaland.
Oba Olugbenle congratulated Oba Saheed Olubiyi for two decades of remarkable leadership and dedicated service to his people, commending his commitment to the development of Idogo-Yewa and beyond.
