Oba Olugbenle Hosts Immigration Chief, Strengthens Security Collaboration, Attends Yewa Unity Cup Match (+photos)

Oba Olugbenle warmly welcoming the Ogun State Comptroller of Immigration Service, Comptroller A.M. Akadri and his team, into his private palace in Ilaro-Yewa, Ogun State.

 

ILARO-YEWA, OGUN STATE, NIGERIA – The Ogun State Comptroller of Immigration Service, Comptroller A.M. Akadri, recently paid a familiarization visit to HRM Alayeluwa Oba (Dr.) Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, the Olu of Ilaro, Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, and Chairman of the Ogun State Council of Obas.

This visit was part of Comptroller Akadri’s engagement efforts following his deployment to Ogun State in 2024.

According to a release e-signed and shared with StarTrend Int’l magazine and online platform by ‘Deola Adeyemi, Special Assistant to the Paramount Ruler on Media and Strategic Communications, the visit aimed to foster collaboration between the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) and traditional authorities in Yewaland and Ogun State at large.

Oba Olugbenle commended the NIS for its efficiency in passport issuance and assured the Comptroller of his support to enhance immigration services within the region.

During the meeting, His Majesty emphasized the need for advanced security strategies, particularly the use of drone technology for effective border surveillance and monitoring.

Discussions also covered pressing security concerns, including the herders-farmers conflict and the presence of illegal immigrants in the region. Comptroller Akadri reaffirmed his commitment to addressing these issues and strengthening cooperation with traditional rulers to improve security and stability.

Oba Olugbenle was joined by several esteemed traditional rulers, reflecting a unified front in addressing community challenges.

The dignitaries included Oba (Dr.) Daniel Abayomi Salako, Aboro of Iboro-Yewa; Oba Kuoye Luqman Olamilekan, Ph.D., Olu of Imasayi-Yewa; Oba Rotimi Mulero, Aboro of Ibese-Yewa and Oba Mathew Ewedairo, Awujako of Ijako Orile.

Their presence underscored the collaborative efforts needed to tackle security concerns in Yewaland.

Later in the evening, Oba Olugbenle attended the Yewa Unity Cup (Youth Championship) Football Match between Ilaro FC and Itoro FC at Emmanuel College, Ilaro-Yewa.

The Yewa Unity Cup, an initiative of the Yewa Youth Association, is currently being played across various towns in Yewaland.

Addressing the audience, Oba Olugbenle emphasized that the competition serves as a vital platform to promote unity among the youths of Yewaland.

He reaffirmed his dedication to youth development and pledged continued support for initiatives that foster unity, sportsmanship, and leadership among young people.
