UK Raises Skilled Worker Visa Salary Thresholds For 2025

The UK government has announced a significant overhaul of its Skilled Worker visa programme, increasing salary thresholds from January 1, 2025.

Also, jobs on the shortage occupation list and roles for new entrants will also require a salary of £30,960. The removal of the 20% discount for shortage occupation roles further narrows eligibility.

 

These changes will significantly affect sectors such as technology, healthcare, and engineering. With fewer roles meeting the new criteria, the number of eligible applicants is expected to decrease, leading to reduced competition.
