Akwa Ibom Police Commissioner Issues Warning On Explosives – Bans Bangers, Knockouts (+photos)

…Meets Senior Officers Ahead Of Yuletide, New Year Celebrations, Assures Of Top Notch Security

UYO, AKWA IBOM STATE, NIGERIA – The Akwa Ibom State Commissioner of Police, CP Joseph Eribo, psc, has issued a stern warning against the use of bangers, knockouts, carbides, and other explosives during the festive season.

According to a statement by ASP Timfon John, Anipr, Police Public Relations Officer, Akwa Ibom State Police Command, Eribo emphasized that individuals or groups violating this directive would face legal consequences.

CP Eribo delivered this warning during a meeting with senior officers, including Deputy Commissioners, Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Tactical Commanders. The meeting was convened to prepare for the Yuletide and New Year celebrations.

The Commissioner directed the reinforcement of police formations across the state to ensure top-notch security in all areas of responsibility (AORs).

He also urged senior officers and tactical commanders to maintain professionalism, supervise their personnel diligently, and provide comprehensive security coverage throughout the state.

Meanwhile, in respect of the anticipated increase in human and vehicular traffic during the festive period, the Command has put in place measures to ensure that   vehicular and human movements don’t experience traffic jams.

The CP acknowledges with gratitude the close working relationship between the Police and Sister Security agencies in the State and described it as a well coordinated response to any security concern.
