Primate Ajigbotoluwa Inducted As Anti-Corruption Ambassador In Ogun State

…ICPC Official Calls For Collective Action To Eradicate Corruption

ABEOKUTA, OGUN STATE, NIGERIA – A call has been made to stakeholders across Nigeria to unite in the fight against corruption, described as an age-old epidemic plaguing society.

The plea came from Mr. Idris Kelvin Abu, State Coordinator of the Anti-Corruption Crusade Organisation of People’s Voice and a member of the ICPC National Anti-Corruption Coalition in Ogun State.

Speaking during the induction ceremony of Primate Ogunmefun Ebenezer Ajigbotoluwa as an Anti-Corruption Ambassador, Mr. Abu emphasized that addressing corruption requires collective effort from all sectors of society.

The induction was held to commemorate this year’s International Anti-Corruption Day, celebrated globally to spotlight the importance of combating corruption in fostering sustainable development and social justice.

In his address, Mr. Abu underscored the significance of having prominent figures like Primate Ajigbotoluwa championing the cause. He highlighted that such leadership helps inspire others to join the mission of ridding society of corrupt practices and rebuilding integrity at every level.

The State Coordinator urged the newly decorated Ambassador to see his new task as a call to join hands in the fight against corruption which has been a serious epidemic in the entire system in the country.

Mr. Abu who noted that Primate Ajigbotoluwa was decorated as Anti-Corruption Ambassador based on his integrity and his forthrightness, and most especially in recognition of his outstanding contributions and commitment to the development of anti-corruption crusade in the state, charging him to be the agency eyes and ears in his community.

He enjoined all the anti corruption ambassadors  to see themselves as people’s voices, adding that their roles in the society must be targeted at  restoring the structure that has been badly affected as a result of corruption that has eating dip into the fabrics of the nation’s system.

Primate Ajigbotoluwa, in his remarks, expressed his gratitude and satisfaction to the State Coordinator of the group for the trust and confidence reposed in him, assuring that he will do his best to assist the agency in the fight against corruption.

He pledged to actively work towards promoting transparency and accountability in Ogun State and beyond while urging citizens to collaborate in fostering a culture of honesty and ethical behavior, which is critical for national progress.

Primate Ajigbotoluwa said that the task for the crusade against corruption must be collectively fought and won so that Nigeria can be great again, going by the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu at revamping the nation’s economy.

He therefore assured the agency of his commitment and determination to work hard in his community and beyond in the fight against corruption in the country.

Primate Ogunmefun Ebenezer Ajigbotoluwa was later decorated as an anti corruption ambassador in the state with the presentation of certificate and other documents.

This induction ceremony not only marked an important milestone in the fight against corruption in Ogun State but also served as a reminder of the shared responsibility to tackle this societal menace.
