IBESE-YEWA, OGUN STATE, NIGERIA – Dangote Cement Plc’s, Ibese Plant, on October 24, 2024, organized a one-day capacity development workshop for its local vendors on the theme “Leveraging DCPI’s Processes and Procedures to Build Viable Local Businesses.”
The training was attended by twenty five (25) service providers and suppliers from neighbouring communities, and facilitated by in-house resource persons, at the Plant’s premises on Ibese-Ilaro Road, Ogun State.
The workshop aimed to broaden vendors’ perspectives and deepen their understanding to unlock greater business opportunities, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen safety and security practices.
In his opening remarks, Acting Plant Director Mr. Johnson Michael stated that the initiative which is first of its kind in Ibese Plant is part of Dangote Cement Plc’s local content development drive and a strategic partnership with host communities to promote sustainable development and prosperity.
He noted that the workshop would equip the participating vendors with the tools and insight necessary to thrive within and beyond the company’s ecosystem.Speaking on behalf of the vendors,
Deacon Segun Omoniyi of Abadom Commercial Enterprises appreciated DCP’s interest in the upskilling and general growth of businesses in the local communities and assured that the knowledge gained would enhance service delivery and operational excellence in the Plant.
The initiative saw effective collaboration amongst relevant departments including Human Asset Management & Administration, Occupational Health, Safety and Environment, Procurement, Security Services, Stores, Finance & Accounts and Social Performance.
