…Says, “Policies Should Have a Human Face”
LISA KINGDOM, IFO LG, OGUN STATE, NIGERIA – The Olu of Lisa Kingdom, Oba Najeemdeen Oladele Odugbemi, has called on the federal government to provide immediate alternatives to ease the economic tension caused by its policies and programmes.
He made this appeal on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, while celebrating his 67th birthday.Oba Odugbemi emphasized that while the current administration’s efforts to restore the nation’s lost glory are commendable, they should be implemented with a human face to lessen the burden on citizens.
Marking 67 years of a blissful journey on earth, Oba Odugbemi reflected on the state of the nation and encouraged the government to balance economic reforms with measures that prioritize the well-being of the people.
While acknowledging the sufferings of masses in the country, the monarch advised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to look for means and ways to ameliorate the sufferings of the people.
He said though, the policies are yielding positive results, the Royal Father called on the government to redouble its efforts through implementation of economic measures that will drastically reduce the hardship and tension in the country.
The Olu of Lisa Kingdom disclosed that the various palliatives of government are not yielding any result because they were going to the wrong hands, and more importantly not achieving the expected results.
Oba Odugbemi advised President Tinubu to re-strategise and re-engineered his economic policies so that the short term programmes of such policies can quickly address the sufferings of Nigerians.
The Royal Father who also enjoined Nigerians to support the present administration, pleaded with the citizens to be patience and endure with the government for the economic turnaround of the country.
He implored traditional rulers in Nigeria to compliment the efforts of the government aimed at revamping the ailing economy, charging them to re-orientate their
subjects in their various communities to have understanding on government policies and programmes.
Oba Odugbemi assured Nigerians that the country will be greater again, adding that the present administration needs the collective efforts, supports and prayers of every Nigerian to fast track socio-economic growth and development of the country.
