ABEOKUTA, OGUN STATE, NIGERIA – Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun CON, has been honoured with a prestigious award at the 5th Annual General Meeting and 25th Anniversary of the Association of Retired Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries.
The award acknowledges Governor Abiodun’s remarkable dedication to improving the welfare of retired public servants and elder statesmen in Ogun State.
Governor Abiodun’s consistent efforts to support retirees were highlighted as a key factor for receiving this esteemed recognition, reinforcing his administration’s focus on ensuring dignity and care for those who have served the state.
Mr. Kehinde Onasanya, Head of Service, accepted the award on behalf of Governor Abiodun, encouraging the association to continue showing love and support for the governor.
He assured them that Governor Abiodun will continue prioritizing civil servants’ welfare.
Under Governor Abiodun’s leadership, retirees have benefited from – Timely Pension Payments; Prompt monthly pension payments; Gratuity Payments; Offset of arrears owed by previous administrations; Recent Release of N5 Billion Naira; Unprecedented amount for gratuity payment, reducing the backlog; Support for Association’s Secretariat; State government’s assistance in constructing the Association’s Secretariat; Palliative Measures and Various measures implemented to cushion inflation’s impact on members.
Engr. Niyi Abiola, Chairman of the Association, expressed gratitude to Governor Abiodun for making life more meaningful for pensioners.
He praised the governor’s efforts and is optimistic that his administration will continue addressing retirees’ concerns.
