… Pay Courtesy Visit To Ogun State Governor Abiodun, Former President Olusegun Obasanjo

ABEOKUTA, OGUN STATE, NIGERIA – HRM Alayeluwa Oba (Dr.) Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle MFR, the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, received members of the Technical Committee of the Southern Nigeria Traditional Rulers Council on Tuesday, September 24, 2024.
This meeting also included representatives from other Paramount Rulers across Ogun State.
The gathering took place during a courtesy visit to the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun CON, who also serves as the Chairman of the Southern Nigeria Governors’ Forum.
The visit was in advance of the Council’s Inaugural Meeting, set to be hosted by the Ogun State Government later this year.
The Southern Nigeria Traditional Rulers Council was established in July 2024 during an event in Imo State, officiated by Governor Abiodun and the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).
The newly formed Council has a primary objective of promoting unity, peace, and security, while ensuring political and economic stability in Southern Nigeria.
Also, the initiative seeks to foster collaboration between traditional rulers and governors to enhance regional and national development.
The Technical Committee is co-chaired by HRM Dr. Dandeson Douglas Jaja, the Jaja of Opobo, and HRM Eze (Dr.) Cletus Ilomuanya, the Obi of Obinagwu.
These respected royal leaders were accompanied by other eminent royal fathers who serve on the committee, all committed to the Council’s goals.
As part of their visit, the committee members also paid a brief courtesy call on former President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo at his residence in the Presidential Library, Abeokuta.
This interaction further reinforced the committee’s commitment to engaging with key figures in the region for the overall development of Southern Nigeria.
