Top Nollywood Actors With Most AMVCA Awards

LAGOS, NIGERIA – The 10th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) took place on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos State.

This annual event, organized by MultiChoice, celebrates outstanding achievements in television and film.

Here are the Nollywood actors who have won the most AMVCA awards:

1. Funke Akindele (Six Awards)

Funke Akindele leads with six AMVCA wins, showcasing her versatility in both comedy and drama. Known for her diverse character portrayals, she is the most awarded Best Actress in a Comedy at the AMVCA.

This year, she is nominated for Best Lead Actress and Best Writing in a Movie for “A Tribe Called Judah.”

2. Osas Ighodaro (Three Awards)

Osas Ighodaro has impressed audiences with her exceptional talent and captivating performances. She won Best Actress in a Movie/Drama Series for “Rattlesnake: The Ahanna Story” in 2022 and Best Dressed Female that same year. In 2023, she won Best Actress in a Movie/Drama for her role in “Man of God.”

3. Rita Dominic (Three Awards)

Rita Dominic, a powerhouse in Nigeria’s film industry, has earned acclaim for her outstanding performances and impactful productions. She won the New Era Award in 2014, Best Actress in a Comedy in 2015 for “The Meeting,” and Best Actress in a Drama/TV Series in 2017 for “76.”

4. Falz (Two Awards)

Folarin Falana, known as Falz, is a versatile artist excelling in both music and film. He won his first AMVCA in 2016 for “Jenifa’s Diary” and Best Supporting Actor for “New Money” in 2018.

5. Broda Shaggi (Two Awards)

Samuel Perry, popularly known as Broda Shaggi, is a two-time AMVCA winner for Best Actor in a Comedy, Movie, or TV Series. He won for “Dwindle” in 2022 and “Inside Life” in 2023.

6. Adesua Etomi (Two Awards)

Adesua Etomi has won two AMVCAs. She first won Best Actress in 2016 for “Falling” and later won Best Supporting Actress for her role in “The King of Boys” in 2019.

7. OC Ukeje (Two Awards)

OC Ukeje is a Nigerian actor, model, and musician. He won Best Actor in a Drama for “Two Brides and a Baby” in 2013 and “Confusion Na Wa” in 2015.

8. Odunlade Adekola (Two Awards)

Odunlade Adekola, a prominent figure in the Yoruba-language film industry, has won AMVCA awards for “A Million Baby” (Best Actor in a Comedy, 2018) and “Jankariwo” (Best Supporting Actor, 2022).

9. Sambasa Nzeribe (Two Awards)

Sambasa Nzeribe is a Nigerian actor, model, and entertainer. He won Best Supporting Actor for “Soldier’s Story” in 2016 and Best Actor in 2017.
