The family of Paul Akintelure, a gubernatorial aspirant of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, has disclosed the cause of the politician’s death.
Oladapo Akintelure, the younger brother of the deceased, revealed that Paul, aged 61, succumbed to illness on morning of Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at a Lagos hospital after experiencing sudden health issues.
Oladapo recounted that his brother had been grappling with persistent headaches, backaches, and chest pains.
“He was hospitalized at one point and had to suspend his campaign to prioritize his health. Concerned about his well-being, we advised him to take a rest, and subsequently relocated him to Lagos,” shared the deceased’s brother.
He further remarked, “As a family member, I prefer not to delve into details at this time, as we are still reeling from the shock of his demise. However, it is regrettable that we lost him during this critical period.”
The family, in an official statement, expressed their deep sorrow over the sudden loss, acknowledging the significant impact of Paul’s untimely passing on their lives, as well as those of his friends, associates, supporters, and political allies.
