DAURA, KATSINA STATE, NIGERIA – Former Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, commended President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, noting the challenges faced upon assuming office in May 2023.
Speaking on Sunday, March 10, 2024, during a meeting with the Comptroller-General and Management team of the Nigerian Customs Service in Daura, Katsina State, Buhari emphasized the daunting nature of governing Nigeria.
Addressing the economic hardships prevalent in the country, Buhari urged Nigerians to endure and lend support to the current administration’s policies and programms.
“I thought Tinubu has done very well. Nigeria is so complex. Really, there isn’t much anybody can do,” remarked Buhari, expressing appreciation for Tinubu’s efforts.
President Tinubu’s administration has faced criticism, particularly regarding policies such as the removal of petrol subsidies and the unification of the exchange rate, which have contributed to escalating inflation and economic challenges in the country.
