PORT-HARCOURT, RIVERS STATE, NIGERIA – Rivers Governor Siminalayi Fubara has expressed his readiness to step down from his position for the sake of peace in Rivers State.
In a video aired on AIT on Thursday, March 7, 2024, Fubara stated: “No sacrifice would be too great for me to make for the progress of this administration, and my motivation is straightforward.
“It’s not driven by political ambition or personal gain. My dedication and affection for our beloved state are genuine. I am not vying to become the sole arbiter of our fate. Let Rivers State endure.
“If relinquishing my position is necessary to foster greater peace in the state, I am even prepared to offer it willingly.
“This is not about me. It is imperative to recognize that while I am here today, one day I will depart, yet Rivers State will endure.”
