Parents of applicants for the 2024 JAMB Examination have raised concerns and called on the Minister of Education to investigate the decision of the JAMB authority to exclude the textbook titled “The Life Changer” by Khadija Abubakar Jelili from the materials provided to applicants.
In a recent investigation conducted by StarTrend Int’l magazine and online, it was discovered that the aforementioned textbook, which was previously included in the materials given to prospective JAMB applicants, is no longer being provided.
Parents interviewed expressed their frustration, stating that it is concerning that the textbook, which was originally part of the package for prospective JAMB applicants, is now being sold separately at exorbitant prices by speculators.
They argued that their children’s payment for the JAMB form should have included “The Life Changer” by Khadija Abubakar Jelili, and they were surprised and disappointed to find that the textbook was not included in their children’s package.
Some JAMB applicants also voiced their disappointment, highlighting the usefulness of “The Life Changer” in guiding them on how to pass the JAMB examination.
They noted that past applicants were provided with the textbook, and they received no explanation as to why it is no longer included with their forms.
Lamenting the situation, they expressed dissatisfaction with having to purchase the textbook from speculators who allegedly obtained it from the JAMB office and are selling it at inflated prices.
Efforts to obtain the JAMB authority’s perspective on the matter were unsuccessful, as calls made to the agency’s Public Relations Officer went unanswered.
