US-Based Artistes, Esquare, Clarify Dispute With Portable: Deny Assault, Attribute Incident To Payment Dispute

Esquare, the US-based musicians, have addressed the controversy involving Nigerian singer Portable, refuting claims of assaulting him in his home.

According to Esquare, the incident occurred at a paid location in Lagos, not Portable’s residence.

They explained that the disagreement arose from a payment dispute related to a collaboration agreement.

Esquare stated that they initially agreed on a fee of N2.5 million for a song and music video, and after paying N1.5 million, they encountered challenges with Portable’s availability for the video shoot.

The situation escalated when Portable demanded an additional N1 million, leading to a heated confrontation.

Esquare emphasized the need for public understanding and clarification of the events.
