ILARO-YEWA – Mr. ‘Laolu Olabimtan, the Ogun State Commissioner for Budget and Planning, has advised parents to prioritize their children’s education.
Olabimtan who stressed this on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at the 2023 Mathematics Bookcamp Graduation ceremony, at the FunWay Clubhouse Ground, GRA, Ilaro-Yewa, Ogun State, emphasized that a child’s education should be a fundamental concern for every parent.
The Ogun Commissioner who also highlighted the future benefits of education emphasized the pivotal role of mathematics in societal development, stating that aspiring science students must study mathematics.
He described the event as a cornerstone for both the students’ and Ogun State’s prosperous future.
His words, “As a Mathematics teacher, I’ll inform the Ogun State Commissioner for Education about this programme, to encourage support for our children’s better future.”
The Adele Olu of Ilaro-Yewa, High Chief Abiodun Ilo, praised the programme for promoting youths’ interest in science subjects.
Chief Ilo believed this initiative would deter youth from engaging in smuggling and urged government support for the students’ success in science through mathematics.
He urged government support for the initiative, suggesting the inclusion of English to further drive mathematics studies.
Mrs. Busola Olabimtan, wife of the Ogun State Commissioner for Budget & Planning, congratulated the students and emphasized education’s role in shaping their future.
She encouraged the students for continuous pursuit of knowledge for future success, emphasizing that education breeds confidence, moral values, and opportunities within society.
Elhadj (Otunba) AbuSatar Idowu Hamed, the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of StarTrend Int’l magazine, commended the students for their dedication to education amid economic challenges.

Deaconess Kehinde Olabimtan prayed for the students’ wisdom and good health in achieving their goals.
The event Mr. Abiodun Olaniyan of Adegbenro ICT Centre, emphasized the significance of mathematics in global discoveries.
He highlighted the programme’s potential to grow despite its humble beginnings, and praised the students’ future appreciation for the knowledge imparted.
A media and Public analyst, Prince Femi Dokunmu stressed the importance of character alongside education, urging the students to embody the spirit of “Omoluwabi” in their studies.
He advocated for the ‘Omoluwabi’ spirit, stressing the importance of moral values in society.
In his welcome address, Founder Adeolu Olabimtan acknowledged the challenges faced during the programme’s inception and expressed gratitude to sponsors while appealing for more support in 2024 and beyond.
He expressed gratitude and commendation, acknowledging Mr. Abiodun Laniyan’s impactful speech, foreseeing its ability to reignite the audience’s enthusiasm for technology and science.
Adeolu also congratulated the 2023 graduating students and the awardees of the 2022 Best Students in JSS3 and SSS3, Best Chess Player, and Best Table Tennis Player.
He extended gratitude to the attendees, specifically mentioning notable guests such as the Hon. Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Mr. Olaolu Olabimtan and his wife; the Adele Olu of Ilaro-Yewa, Chief Abiodun Ilo; Mr. Abiodun Laniyan, the Head of E-Learning at D.S.
