NAWOJ’s Former President Urges President Tinubu To Tackle Insecurity, Economic Hardship in 2024

Alhaja Fatimah Abdul-Kareem, former National President of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the country’s security apparatus to take proactive measures in safeguarding the lives and property of citizens in the coming year.

Reflecting on the challenges faced in the past year, particularly highlighting the hardships encountered by the less-privileged due to the removal of fuel subsidy, Alhaja Abdul-Kareem stressed the urgency for the federal government to intensify efforts in addressing the prevailing insecurity.

She emphasized the necessity of restoring hope among the average Nigerians affected by these adversities.

Speaking of the resilience displayed by Nigerian communities during trying times, Alhaja Abdul-Kareem praised their capacity to endure and rise above challenges, underlining the importance of unity, togetherness, and collaborative efforts in nation-building.

Encouraging inclusivity and empathy, Alhaja Abdul-Kareem advocated for celebrating diversity and fostering an environment where such values are honored and cherished.

Alhaja Abdul-Kareem urged Nigerians to remain hopeful, support government initiatives at all levels, and exhibit patriotism to overcome hurdles and create a brighter future collectively. She urged them to spread the flame of hope, inspiring others to believe in a better tomorrow.

Concerning the recent tragedies in Plateau State and Kaduna State, Alhaja Abdul-Kareem called upon President Tinubu to allocate more resources towards combating insurgency and ensuring the safety of lives and properties.

Expressing condolences to the affected communities and families, Alhaja Abdul-Kareem prayed for the departed souls and asked for divine strength for the bereaved and the nation as a whole.

Alhaja Abdul-Kareem however commended President Tinubu and Nigerians for their commitment and resilience in the past year, while encouraging a hopeful outlook for a better nation in 2024, stressing the importance of unity and sincerity in addressing prevailing issues.
