Rotimi Akeredolu Jnr., the son of the late Ondo State governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, has said that his father peacefully passed away in Germany while asleep.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, Akeredolu Jnr. said, “He peacefully departed in his sleep at a Hospital in Germany, where he was undergoing treatment for a prolonged battle with prostate cancer.
“While the depth of our sadness is profound, we take solace in the belief that as he transitions to eternity, he will be guided by the benevolent hands of the angels of light, a realm he inhabited throughout his extraordinary and fruitful journey on Earth.
“During this challenging time, we are immensely grateful for the unwavering support from everyone who has stood by us since the news surfaced.
“We earnestly seek your prayers and understanding, while also requesting privacy as we navigate through this poignant period.
“Further information regarding the burial arrangements will be shared by the family and the State Government in due course.”
