Oba Makinde Celebrates 3 Years on Throne, Commends Gov. Abiodun, Olu Ilaro, Urges Sons/Daughters To Remember Roots

The Oniwoye of Iwoyeland in Yewa South Local Government, Ogun State, Oba Ololade Buhari Makinde, recently commemorated his third anniversary on the ancestral throne.

To mark this occasion, the youthful and charismatic monarch initiated the celebrations with a prayer session at the revered township river “Agbo Odu,” seeking blessings for the community’s advancement and well-being.

Expressing gratitude during the festivities, Oba Makinde thanked the Almighty God for granting him the opportunity to reach this three-year milestone since ascending the throne of his ancestors.

The monarch extended heartfelt appreciation to the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for his impartiality in his coronation as Oniwoye, as well as to Oba (Dr.) Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle MFR, Asade Agunloye IV, the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, for paternal guidance and enduring support over the years.

Also, the monarch conveyed special thanks to Chief Adewale Saranda Adesina, the Babalaje of Ilaro-Yewa, Ogun State, and the town’s residents for their continued steadfast allegiance on his reign.

Utilizing the occasion, Oba Makinde appealed to the state government to allocate provisions in the 2024 budget for developmental projects in Iwoye-Yewa, aimed at enhancing the town’s vitality and well-being.

The monarch also urged the town’s residents to propose and support projects that would bolster the town’s economic landscape, emphasizing the collective responsibility for Iwoye-Yewa’s development.

The ceremony witnessed the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Oba Rotimi Mulero, the Aboro of Ibeseland; Oba Lukman Kuoye, the Olu Imasayi-Yewa; Oba Oyebanji Adetunji Oladapo, the Oloja of Oja-Odan; and Oba Adegbola Alaye, the Oniro Of Agude-Yewa, among others.
